The Nels I Know: Rick Cornstuble

Rick Cornstuble is a Vietnam veteran who lives in Lafayette.  Rick has been a strong advocate for the people around Lafayette and a strong fighter for veterans.  “I would tell people to look at Nels Ackerson, look at the kind of things he’s done, the kind of man he is, the things he’s said,” Rick says, “and then juxtapose that with the kinds of things we haven’t heard from our current congressman.”

The Nels I Know: Nancy Papas

Nancy Papas is a leading advocate for teachers here in Indiana and a longtime member of the Hoosier education community.  She was also active in Indiana 4H.  Nancy and I met in high school and have been friends for more than 30 years.   Says Nancy, “Nels is the kind of candidate who can reach across party lines to formulate real solutions to what we need to do for our public schools.”

The Nels I Know: Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski supports Nels!

Born and raised in Lafayette, Mayor Tony Roswarski has been a champion for Hoosiers and we’re glad to have him as a champion for Nels!  Before becoming Mayor, Tony served as a police officer and a city councilman, working in both capacities for the betterment of our community.

In offering his endorsement, Tony noted that “I was touched by how much Nels cares about people, and how much he wanted to do the right thing, to lift everybody up, and to get this country moving in the right direction for all of us.”  He also added that in his judgement, “Nels Ackerson is the kind of man who will ask each day ‘did I do everything I could to help the people of this district’.”

Tony Roswarski is a great friend and a great Mayor, and we are tremendously pleased to have his help as we fight to restore America and to help Hoosiers every day.

The Nels I Know: Veteran Ross Haeger shares his thoughts on Nels

I met Ross Haeger many months ago and am proud to have his support as a Veteran for Nels.  Ross is a retired Veteran of the Gulf War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He has been a great supporter of our campaign, and it’s been great to have him involved.

Says Ross, “I have never been a Democrat or Conservative… I have always voted for who makes sense. I have conservative views. I have liberal views. When I sat down with Nels, it was like I was sitting down with a guy in my back home mom and dad’s tavern, who was just concerned about the issuesand was not partisan.”

The Nels I Know: Republican Scott McKain discusses why he’s supporting Nels

Scott McKain is a lifelong Hoosier Republican who has known Nels for over 30 years, beginning with their involvement in the Indiana Future Farmers of America. Scott is also a very successful author and businessman here in Indiana, who has been active in Republican politics. But this year, he’s supporting Nels Ackerson for Congress and we’re glad to have his help!
