Affordable, Quality Health Care
The greatest nation on earth should be the healthiest nation, but we are not. We should have health care that is affordable to all, but we do not. We should insist that medical decisions must be made by medical professionals rather than insurance companies, but they are not. It’s time to put aside blame and excuses. America needs a better health care system, and we need it now.
I believe it’s time to put aside past mistakes, demagoguery and excuses, and adopt solutions. America needs a better health care system. We must determine the scope of comprehensive health care we can afford and put together the public and private resources to get the job done. We cannot justify even for a short time our failure to provide access to comprehensive health care to our children, to our elderly, and to our veterans.
I have met with and engaged physicians, nurses, patients, hospital and clinic administrators, and others throughout the district to pursue a better understanding of the failures of present policies and to find better ways to improve accessibility, affordability and quality of health care.
