On the Air!

I’d like to take a minute to thank Abdul Hakim-Shabbaz for inviting me to be a guest this morning on WXNT 1430 last Friday. For those of you who don’t regularly listen, Abdul hosts a conservative daily call-in show from 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 AM. Some might think my visit with Abdul and his callers could be a little like Daniel in the lion’s den. While I don’t agree with some of Abdul’s callers, and I don’t agree with Abdul on a number of issues, I have a great respect for open and honest discussion of public policy issues. Beyond that, I share a number of views that are generally considered conservative or libertarian. I respect our military and support our troops, even though I disagree with many of the political decisions that this Administration has forced on our military. I strongly oppose huge deficits and exploding national debt. I have devoted most of my career to defending individual freedom and property rights. These are not partisan issues. In my opinion, these are simply common sense positions. In my campaign and when elected to Congress, I intend to reach out to people from all backgrounds and across party lines.
